The WoW mission is to help overcome the asymmetric degrees of regional veterinary oncology development, resource limitations (both financial and human), and active communication (based on both language and cultural nuances).
Also, to improve tumor awareness, communication, and vigilance for our global community and our pet parents. Finally, the WSAVA Oncology Working Group believes in ‘One Health’ or ‘One Medicine’ vision. The concept encompasses the human population, domestic animals and wildlife, and the impact of environmental changes (‘environmental health’) such as global cancer hazards. The small companion animals (principally dogs and cats) share their lives in the same environment as their owners; thus, they are exposed to the same factors that postulate them as "sentinels" of pathologies such as cancer.
