COVID-19 and Pets: what you and your clients need to know

Read the Advisory prepared by our Scientific and One Health Committees

The outbreak of COVID-19 is causing fear and uncertainty. It is a significant threat to companion animal welfare as some owners are concerned that pets could spread the virus. The WSAVA’s One Health and Scientific Committees have prepared an Advisory to help you to support pet owners during this challenging time. We are updating it regularly and working collaboratively with other stakeholders to bring you the latest information.

Read it here and please share it with your colleagues:

To further reassure pet owners that they will not catch COVID-19 from their pets and to encourage them to continue to take good care of them, we recommend this video from The Department of Infectious Diseases and Public Health at the City University in Hong Kong.

Our member association the Australian Veterinary Association has also produced some helpful resources here.
