Welcome recognition in our official scientific journal of this important project

We are delighted that the WSAVA List of Essential Medicines for Cats and Dogs, recently created by our Therapeutics Guidelines Group (TGG), has been published in the Journal of Small Animal Practice.

TGG Co-chair Dr Paulo Steagall says: [blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]The WSAVA TGG is very happy with the open-access publication of the List of Essential Medicines in the JSAP. It gives it even more credibility and ensures easy access to veterinarians globally. While the current priority is the COVID-19 pandemic, we are continuing to work behind the scenes to facilitate easier access to veterinary medicines for all veterinarians and will continue our campaign more proactively once the world is back to our ‘new normal’.[/blockquote]

JSAP editor, Dr Nicola Di Girolamo, says: [blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]Educating small animal veterinarians and promoting best practice are among the key aims of JSAP, and we firmly believe that by publishing the WSAVA List of Essential Medicines as an open access paper we are fulfilling both of these goals. We hope that the publication of this list will be the basis for the development of sustainable and effective animal care throughout different countries and continents.[/blockquote]
