Committees

One Health Committee

Goal

The One Health Committee (OHC) works to ensure the importance of the companion animal-human interface in the global One Health agenda is understood by our members.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness and understanding of the increasing importance of companion animals in One Health

History

While the general concept of One Health is well understood in relation to the interactions between production animals, wildlife, the environment and human health, the growing significance of the human-companion animal bond in One Health is not yet fully appreciated.  The OHC is working to bridge this critical ‘knowledge gap.’
