Education Committee

Goal

The purpose of the Education Committee is to support WSAVA by providing and developing a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical education resources to meet the needs of the different global regions. The committee aims to maintain WSAVA’s reputation as a world leader in developing companion animal veterinary practice through continuing education, and quality improvement.

Objectives

  • Needs Assessment & Planning: Identifying regional education needs and proactively planning in-person and online events, in coordination with local organizers, other WSAVA committees, and partners.

  • Program Development & Oversight: Reviewing and approving educational proposals, ensuring content aligns with best practices and ethics, and maintaining high standards for courses, speakers, and external content.

  • Content Quality & Accessibility: Providing guidance on WSAVA resources (e.g., guidelines, toolkits), managing translation requests, and ensuring content relevance through audits and feedback evaluation.

  • Scientific Program Leadership: Leading the development and review of the WSAVA World Congress scientific program and abstract submissions.

  • Governance & Strategy: Managing project groups, maintaining a central education calendar, developing a KOL (key opinion leader) database, and supporting the LMS platform’s evolution.

  • Financial & Ethical Oversight: Setting pricing strategies for online content, managing conflicts of interest, and reviewing funding proposals for WSAVA Foundation research.
