A Message from the President: 2025 Reflections

As we come to the end of another year, WSAVA President Jim Berry reflects on the milestones, collaborations, and shared achievements that shaped 2025, while looking ahead to an exciting year to come.

Dear WSAVA Community,

As we come to the close of 2025, I want to extend my warm thanks to all our members, volunteers, partners, and our dedicated WSAVA team for your commitment and contributions throughout the year. Your passion and collaboration continue to drive our mission forward.

This year marked significant progress across our global community — from strengthening our educational programs and launching new resources, to deepening partnerships and expanding our reach in regions where support is most needed.

Among our key achievements in 2025 were the successful launch of the new WSAVA Academy, our Regional Forums in Abu Dhabi and Rio, and the support of continuing education initiatives in 17 countries. Each of these advancements reflects the collective effort of so many who believe in improving companion animal care worldwide.

A highlight of the year was our WSAVA Congress in Rio de Janeiro, where more than 5,200 colleagues from around the world gathered to learn, share, and reconnect. Your energy and enthusiasm made it an unforgettable celebration of our profession and our shared purpose.

Looking ahead to 2026, we are already preparing for another impactful year, including our upcoming WSAVA Congress in Warsaw. We remain committed to supporting our Member Associations, advancing veterinary education, and strengthening our global advocacy efforts.

Wishing you and your families a happy and peaceful holiday season, and a healthy, successful year ahead.

Thank you for being part of our community and for helping us continue transforming care together.

Jim Berry
President, WSAVA
