The WSAVA Continuing Education (CE) program has successfully wrapped up its face-to-face neurology sessions for 2024 in the Balkans, with the final event taking place in Tirana, Albania. This initiative, led by the esteemed Dr. Thomas Flegel, provided essential training tailored to meet the needs of veterinarians across the region.
The seminar in Tirana, hosted by the Albanian Veterinary Society and held at the Hilton Garden Inn, was attended by 35 participants, including practitioners and veterinary students. Dr. Flegel shared with the audience his practical approach to neurology, emphasizing problem-solving techniques that do not rely only / necessary on costly diagnostic tools. His interactive case discussions showcased the potential to resolve neurological challenges through knowledge and clinical expertise.
Dr. Lea Kreszinger, a dedicated member of the WSAVA CE Committee, emphasized the importance of such programs in addressing the gaps in veterinary education and clinical exposure in Albania.
This program is part of WSAVA’s broader mission to deliver practical and inspiring continuing education globally, supported generously by its Diamond Partner, the Purina Institute. It reflects WSAVA’s commitment to enhancing the standards of veterinary care and addressing the unique needs of its members.
The CE events held across the Balkans—including Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Montenegro—provided invaluable learning opportunities for veterinarians, enabling them to apply new insights and improve their practices.
The successful conclusion of the Balkan tour marks another milestone in WSAVA’s ongoing efforts to transform veterinary care worldwide. We look forward to continuing to support our members’ needs in 2025!
