Could you briefly introduce The Webinar Vet to our members?

The Webinar Vet has just celebrated its 10th anniversary. When I launched the company, no-one really knew what a webinar was and online CE for veterinarians barely existed. Today, it is the most popular way for veterinarians and nurses to continue their learning. Most of our webinars cover clinical topics but we also offer content on well-being and on emerging issues, such as sustainability.

As a committed environmentalist, I’m delighted that this change in behavior has saved millions of travel miles because training can now come directly to your home or clinic.

Why did The Webinar Vet want to become an Educational Partner of the WSAVA?

The WSAVA is such a respected organisation and it shares our aim to make veterinary education accessible and affordable to vets right around the world. Much of our training is free to view and we also run a 1-4-1 initiative under which we donate a ticket to a veterinarian in a developing country for every ticket we sell. It is fantastic to see vets from all over the world viewing our webinars.

How did your recent Virtual Congress go?

Our Virtual Congress is the world’s largest online veterinary congress. This year, it took place on February 1, featuring webinars from global experts on a comprehensive range of topics, including companion animal medicine and surgery, dermatology, emergency medicine and veterinary wellness. We also offered six hours of free content specifically for WSAVA members.

More than 10,000 veterinarians and nurses from 147 countries registered for the Congress and many of them are still watching the recordings now. Meanwhile, we’re starting to plan to make our 2021 Virtual Congress even better. Stay tuned!

What other plans do you have for 2020?

We have already launched a series of podcasts and they are proving popular. We are also looking to develop our offering for students and to continue to attract more veterinarians from around the world to view our webinars.
