Dr. Natasha Lee is a Malaysian veterinarian with over 20 years of experience in advancing animal welfare across diverse cultural and geographic contexts. As a member and then Chair of the WSAVA Animal Welfare Committee from 2018 to 2023, she has been instrumental in shaping global standards and advocating for the welfare of companion animals. Dr. Lee also serves as the Asia Regional Coordinator for World Horse Welfare, where she oversees projects in China, Nepal, and Cambodia, and is the Director of Star Pets Animal Clinic, a spay/neuter and shelter medicine practice in Kuala Lumpur.
A graduate of Universiti Putra Malaysia with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Lee also holds a Master’s in International Animal Welfare, Ethics, and Law from the University of Edinburgh. She is a Member of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the Animal Welfare Chapter. Her professional roles include Trustee of International Cat Care and membership in global advisory boards. With a passion for education and capacity building, she has trained veterinarians and NGOs in animal welfare science, shelter medicine, and human behavior change strategies, fostering collaboration and driving positive change for animals worldwide.
