Welcome to our new member, the Egyptian Small Animal Veterinary Association (ESAVA)!
ESVAVA joined the WSAVA in 2020 in order to take its place in the global veterinary community and support the development of companion animal practice in its region. Its president, Dr Taha Khodeir says:
[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]
ESAVA is working to connect the Egyptian veterinary community at both a local and global level so that we can adopt the most up-to-date practice guidelines. We are also working to raise awareness among pet owners of the importance of animal welfare standards.[/blockquote]
He continues:
[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]We have been engaged in the veterinary community since 2016 and, as small animal practice has grown rapidly in Egypt in recent years, it was time to get organized in our own association. This is helping us to set up unified protocols for diagnosis and treatment, as well as in aspects of practice management.[/blockquote]

Dr Muhammad Mahrous, ESAVA Member Representative, with Arpita Bhose, WSAVA CEO
[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]We have always been powered by the potential and dedication of the many veterinarians and students in Egypt who really want to make a difference. As someone who dreams of leading change in the veterinary world in our region, I hope that during this year we will start to make an impression, not just in Egypt but also on the global stage.[/blockquote]
[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]In order to achieve our objective of becoming part of the global veterinary community, it was essential that ESAVA joined the WSAVA, a respected association, which can serve as a trusted reference point and source of mentorship and support to our members.
