Your ‘go to’ for a comprehensive review of the DNA tests available to help you diagnose hereditary disease
Many new genetic tests including hematological, metabolic, imaging and DNA tests, are now available to help veterinarians to reach a specific diagnosis of hereditary disease and to identify asymptomatic carriers.
The WSAVA/PennGen Canine and Feline Hereditary Disease (DNA) Testing Laboratories Database was established by the WSAVA HDC under the guidance of its former Chair Dr Urs Giger. It lists all available DNA tests, searchable by breed, disease, or testing laboratory for dogs and cats, with links to published references regarding the mutation discovery. It is updated by Dr Giger as new tests are developed.
