As veterinary professionals, we understand the huge benefits of animal companionship so let’s show the world just how important our furry friends can be. To mark International Pet Day, we’re launching a contest to create a 2024 calendar highlighting the human-animal bond. You and your colleagues could be the stars!
To enter, share with us on one of our social media channels (Facebook, Twitter or Instagram) a picture of you or one of your team with their companion – or with a patient*. Make sure to include a short ription too so we know who’s in the picture and why it’s a great example of the human-animal bond. Deadline – May 11 2023.
In July, our judges will pick their top 12 and they will be included in the WSAVA ‘Celebrate the Bond’ calendar. Printed versions will be available at WSAVA World Congress in Lisbon and it will also be available for free download from the WSAVA website from November 2023.

Terms and conditions
- Contest entrants are responsible for getting permission from the subject of the photograph if required (for instance, if it is a colleague)
- By entering the Contest, all participants agree, if necessary, to have their name and/or picture used for promotional purposes free of charge.
- By entering the contest, you attest to your eligibility as outlined in the contest rules and release WSAVA, as well as its respective directors, officers, and employees, from all liability for any damage or loss arising from participation in this contest or from the awarding, acceptance or use of the prize.
- Entrants must be the sole owner of the copyright for each photo they submit. Entrants can only submit their own work and must not infringe on any rights of a third party.
- By entering the competition, you are granting WSAVA a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, and irrevocable licence to reproduce, publish and communicate your photo/s to the public. You retain the copyright of your image/s.
- The 12 winning images will be chosen by a panel selected by the WSAVA and the images will appear in the WSAVA 2024 calendar. The judges’ decision is final. We will inform the winners by email. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, the judges reserve the right to disqualify them and select another winner from the eligible entries.
- Refusal to accept the prize releases WSAVA, as well as its respective directors, officers, and employees, of any liability and obligation toward the winner.
- By entering this contest, all participants agree to abide by the contest rules as stated above, including any amendment applied by WSAVA.
- The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or LinkedIn.
