The Pro Salus Foundation was originally established as an independent legal entity called the WSAVA Foundation, created to support the global veterinary community—particularly in regions where companion animal veterinary practice is still developing.
Following a strategic rebranding and governance transition, the WSAVA Foundation is now operating independently as the Pro Salus Foundation, with its own leadership and legal status. As such, Pro Salus is no longer overseen by WSAVA.
Despite this change in structure, WSAVA and Pro Salus continue to share many of the same goals, particularly in improving animal health and welfare, supporting the veterinary profession, and strengthening local veterinary associations worldwide. We are proud to continue working in close collaboration on a number of key initiatives, including educational outreach, scholarship support, and humanitarian aid for veterinary communities affected by crisis.
