In celebration of World AMR Awareness Week, WSAVA invites you to a special webinar on the responsible use of antibiotics in veterinary dentistry.
The WSAVA Standards Steering Committee is developing the Essential Standards for Companion Animal Veterinary Practices (ESCAVP), practical, globally relevant guidelines to improve patient care, support veterinary teams, and strengthen our profession worldwide.
We are delighted to announce that the 2025 WSAVA Global Meritorious Service Award has been awarded to Dr. Francisco Javier Corral (Argentina). His nomination was proudly submitted by the Argentine Small Animal Veterinary Association (AVEACA) in recognition of his exceptional contributions to veterinary education, clinical excellence, and service to the global veterinary community.
We are delighted to announce that Dr Lawson Cairns (South Africa) has been recognized with the 2025 WSAVA President’s Award, a distinction which celebrates exceptional service to the association and its global mission.
We are proud to announce that the 2025 WSAVA Companion Animal Welfare Award has been awarded to Dr. Hannah Capon (United Kingdom). Her nomination was submitted by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association (BSAVA) in recognition of her tireless commitment to improving the lives of dogs affected by chronic pain, particularly osteoarthritis, and for her pioneering leadership in veterinary education and advocacy.
We are proud to announce that the 2025 WSAVA International Award for Scientific Achievement has been awarded to Prof. Holger Volk (Germany), in recognition of his outstanding and sustained contributions to veterinary neurology and his global leadership in advancing companion animal health through scientific excellence.
The WSAVA Therapeutics Committee has been leading efforts to better understand how unused or expired veterinary medicines are disposed of worldwide—an issue with important implications for animal, human, and environmental health.
The Pro Salus Foundation was originally established as an independent legal entity called the WSAVA Foundation, created to support the global veterinary community—particularly in regions where companion animal veterinary practice is still developing.
Earlier this year, we introduced Jing Wang, winner of the 2025 WSAVA Teach the Teachers Scholarship, which supports veterinary professionals dedicated to advancing education in anesthesia and pain management worldwide.
The ideal candidate will have a Veterinary or Human Medicine degree with postgraduate training in environmental health, or an Environmental Science/Ecology degree with research on the animal–human–environment interface.
