WSAVA Certificate in Pain Management – Module I

This 3 module course includes pre-recorded lectures in addition to mandatory and suggested reading materials, and quizzes and is primarily based on the recently published ‘2022 WSAVA guidelines for the recognition, assessment and treatment of pain'.

This module will cover:

Animal welfare and ethics in pain management.
Pain pathophysiology and the role of emotions on pain perception.
Clinical assessment of pain in dogs and cats.
Lectures on trending topics and how they relate to pain management including:
- Human-Animal Bond;
- Client Communication;
- Stakeholders and the importance of Nurses/Technicians;
- and Sustainability
