Could you tell us a bit about your career before joining the WSAVA?
My background is in communications, social media, content creation, and visual storytelling. I hold a degree in Cinematography with a specialization in Film Direction. Over the years, I have worked with companies, organizations, and creative studios across a variety of industries, developing communication strategies, managing social media channels, creating digital campaigns, and producing content designed to inform and engage audiences.
When I first became familiar with WSAVA, I immediately recognized the opportunity to contribute to something with a truly global impact. Joining the communications team felt like an exciting chance to combine my passion for storytelling and communication with meaningful work that supports the veterinary profession worldwide.
What attracted you to this role with the WSAVA?
What attracted me most was the opportunity to contribute to an organization that has such a meaningful global impact. WSAVA brings together veterinary professionals from around the world, supporting education, collaboration, and the advancement of companion animal care. I was particularly excited by the challenge of helping communicate the work of such a diverse and international community. I believe that effective communication can strengthen connections, increase engagement, and help ensure that important initiatives reach and inspire members across the globe.
What are your immediate priorities?
My immediate priorities are to get to know the organization, its members, committees, and partners, while gaining a deeper understanding of the many initiatives taking place across WSAVA. I am also focused on supporting and enhancing our digital communications, strengthening our social media presence, and identifying opportunities to share more of the valuable work being carried out by our members and volunteers. Most importantly, I am looking forward to listening, learning, and collaborating with colleagues and members to help tell their stories and showcase their contributions to the veterinary profession.
For me, it is especially important to help strengthen awareness and engagement within the global veterinary community around WSAVA, its mission, and the incredible work being done to improve the health and welfare of companion animals worldwide. I believe that effective communication can help connect veterinary professionals with WSAVA’s initiatives, foster greater collaboration and engagement, and highlight the positive impact the organization has on veterinary teams, pets, and their owners around the world.
