Meet Eva Wambui

Meet Eva Wambui! Ana joined the WSAVA team as our new Administrative Assistant. Join us in welcoming her to the team!

Could you introduce yourself and your new role to our members?

Hello everyone, my name is Eva Wambui, and I’m delighted to be joining WSAVA as an Administrative Assistant.

I’ll be working closely with our Chief Community Officer, Liat Geller, supporting the day-to-day administrative and operational activities that help keep our global community connected. My role will involve assisting with administrative processes, coordinating projects, supporting meetings and communications, and helping ensure that the many initiatives, relationships, and activities across our global community run smoothly.

Could you tell us a bit about your career before joining the WSAVA?

I have a background in law, executive support, and business operations. Each role in my career has taught me something different, but they’ve all had one thing in common: helping people navigate complexity with confidence.

I’m excited to contribute to the incredible work WSAVA does in supporting veterinary professionals around the world, and I’m looking forward to getting to know our members, committees, and colleagues.

What attracted you to this role with the WSAVA?

What attracted me most was the opportunity to be part of an organization with such a meaningful global mission and impact. Advocating for people and animals is something I am passionate about, and WSAVA gives me the chance to do that at a global scale.

What are your immediate priorities?

Right now, my biggest priority is learning as much as I can. I want to understand the team’s work rhythm, get to know my colleagues and our members, and learn the systems and processes. My goal is to become someone the team can rely on, someone who communicates clearly, takes initiative, pays attention to detail, and helps make everyone’s work just a little easier.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

Outside of work, my favourite thing to do is being a mum to my daughter. She keeps life interesting; she’s always up to something new to drive me a little crazy, and I love creating special memories together.

Recently, I have taken up crocheting; it helps me slow down, recharge, and really remain in the present moment.

I love upskilling as well, and I am currently completing a Course in Product Management and hope to translate those new skills into my new role at WSAVA.
