Richard’s career has focused on helping organisations navigate change, strengthen leadership and translate strategy into meaningful action. His work spans organisational transformation, governance, executive leadership, membership organisations and professional development, with a particular interest in how associations can remain relevant and create lasting value in a rapidly changing world.
He recently completed a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), researching strategic planning within professional membership associations. His research explores strategy as a social practice rather than a planning exercise, resulting in a practical framework that helps associations develop more effective, collaborative and adaptive approaches to strategy.
Alongside his executive leadership role, Richard speaks internationally on strategy, leadership, organisational change and the future of professional associations. He combines academic research with practical experience gained from leading change across national and international organisations.
Richard believes that great organisations are built through courageous leadership, genuine collaboration and a relentless focus on people. He is passionate about helping leaders move beyond managing organisations to creating environments where people, professions and communities can thrive.
