The Continuing Education Committee (CEC) works to provide practical, relevant and inspiring CE that assists our members to solve clinical problems and advance their practice, regardless of the size and sophistication of their practice.
It also supports them with CE to develop the non-clinical skills that are so important in building a successful and rewarding career in today’s complex veterinary environment.
Objectives
Encourage and deliver both high quality earning and professional development for companion animal practitioners
Support member associations to develop self-sufficiency in running CE programs for their members
Support WSAVA CE in regions in which companion animal veterinary practice is still emerging. This could be full financial support for member associations not yet able to support CE meetings featuring international speakers or partial financial support for members whose CE programs are limited.
History
The CEC was launched more than 20 years ago when the WSAVA and FECAVA first teamed up to provide post-graduate education in Eastern Europe and the Baltic States. They worked together on a pilot program in six countries in the region, which proved very successful. As a result, the CEC was created and its activities now span 5 continents and 41 countries.
