WSAVA Educational Partner ACTAsia helps to spread the message on pain management in China

‘Pain Free 2020’ contest drives adoption of the WSAVA’s Global Pain Guidelines in China

Congratulations to our Educational Partner ACTAsia which is raising standards of pain management in China by running a competition for its network of Vets for Compassion-trained veterinarians. These veterinarians, who train their colleagues in regular ‘Train the trainer’ workshops, have been challenged to adhere to the WSAVA’s Global Pain Guidelines and to use creativity in encouraging their colleagues and their clients to adopt them too.

ACTAsia Train the Trainer Workshop

Vets observe an ACTAsia trainer neutering, consolidating the theory and knowledge gained in one of its ‘Train the Trainer’ workshops

The competition runs until 31 August with ACTAsia then selecting a winner based on a scoring system which will assess both the creativity with which each of the veterinarians has met the challenge and the number of adopters they can prove.

Highlights of the competition will be previewed during #WSAVA2020, prior to their official launch and the announcement of the winner on World Animal Day – October 4.

Dawn Peacock, Director of Programs for ACTAsia, says:

[blockquote] This contest is a wonderful opportunity for our vets to make an impact on the veterinary profession and to increase the quality of life of the patients they are caring for. We’re looking forward to seeing the variety of methods they use to share pain management best practice as set out in the WSAVA Pain Guidelines.[/blockquote]
