Could you be a 2021 NAVC Colin F Burrows International Scholar?

If you could qualify, submit your application before May 1, 2020!

The NAVC Colin F Burrows International Scholar program was launched in 2014 by the North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) and the WSAVA, to enable future leaders of the veterinary profession in regions of the world in which companion animal practice is still developing, to attend the annual NAVC Congress – now called VMX – in Florida, USA.

The NAVC supports at least three candidates per year, one from each of the three WSAVA regions:

  1. Europe, Africa and the Middle East
  2. Asia and Oceania
  3. The Americas

Selected Scholars receive benefits including:

  • One complimentary VMX registration
  • Travel expenses
  • Seven nights hotel accommodation
  • Seven days of a ‘per dime’s cover some of your day to day expenses while you are there
  • One complimentary Hands-on Workshop (depending on availability)
  • A current NAVC Board Member or Past President to serve as your host while on-site
  • A VP invitation to special events during VMX.

WSAVA Member Representatives are invited to nominate one candidate from their country’s association. Preference will be given to applicants who are active members and who have the potential to develop and support continuing veterinary education in their region.

An additional candidate will be selected from Africa, nominated by the Board of the WSAVA Foundation’s African Small Companion Animal Network (AFSCAN).

The VMX 2021 International Scholarship Program has been postponed to 2022, all candidates for the 2021 Scholarship will be contacted by the NAVC.
