Modules already available in English, Spanish, Russian and Mandarin Chinese
We are delighted to announce that a four-module online nutrition course initiated by the WSAVA’s Continuing Education Committee is now available free of charge to members on the WSAVA Academy. The course aims to:
- Increase veterinary understanding of the value of nutritional assessments
- Support veterinary professionals in creating feeding and monitoring plans
- Help you advise clients as to the importance of appropriate nutrition for their dog or cat.
The modules feature narrated and interactive e-learning, with videos; downloadable resources; multiple choice questions and ‘drag and drop’ activities to help learners test their knowledge. The content was developed by the WSAVA Global Nutrition Committee (GNC). Its creation was supported by WSAVA Diamond Partner, the Purina Institute.
Dr Marge Chandler
GNC Co-Chair
Feeding the correct diet to an animal is essential to maintain optimal health and manage the signs and progression of many disorders. This makes nutrition a cornerstone of veterinary medicine and an area of our work that can help us transform the quality of life of our patients.
We hope these modules will inspire WSAVA members to develop their knowledge of nutrition and to use the engaging and practical ways we suggest to incorporate nutritional assessments into their everyday practice, bringing added value to their patients and clients.
