Could it help your association or veterinary community?

WSAVA One Care is an initiative that supports veterinary development by empowering member associations or veterinary communities. One Care recognizes that it is not possible to impose ‘top down’ strategies in all regions of the world. It can be more effective to work with groups to identify their specific priorities then set realistic goals, in areas such as the creation of hospital standards, continuing education, animal welfare and association development.

ISAVPA became a full WSAVA member in 2018, having already used the WSAVA’s One Care approach from its launch to become first an associate, then full WSAVA member. During October it held a three-day third participatory workshop, under the leadership of ISAVPA President Dr Sitti Komariah, and facilitated by WSAVA President Dr Siraya Chunekamrai, in order to plan the next stage of its development.

During the workshop, members used the structure and tools created in the One Care Roadmap to discuss three key stages:

1. Stakeholder engagement and assessment
2. Participatory workshops for the development a strategic plan
3. Strategy implementation.

The workshop was very successful and helped ISAVPA to develop its mission statement and key objectives. Members are now working on a measurable strategic plan to ensure it delivers on its mission and achieves its key objectives!

Dr Narti Daroendio from ISAVPA says: “After participating in WSAVA One Care, we found it easier to identify our problems then develop solutions. We are now preparing to implement these solutions and hope they will help us to grow our ISAPVA become a strong small animal practitioner organization.”
