WSAVA World Congress 2022 is a wrap!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s congress an unforgettable experience!

More than 1,500 delegates from 20 countries attended WSAVA World Congress in Lima, relishing the opportunity to meet face-to-face for the first time in three years. In addition to the comprehensive CE program designed to meet the needs of companion animal practitioners globally, delegates enjoyed a sparkling social program, including the popular Pisco Sour party – the Pisco Sour is the national cocktail of Peru.

The annual Shaping the Future session, during which the WSAVA raises a key issue of concern for companion animal veterinarians, highlighted the issues faced by many veterinarians globally in obtaining access to even the most basic veterinary medicines. The session was followed by a stakeholder summit and, as a result of this meeting, a taskforce is being set up to help develop solutions to ensure that all veterinarians have ready access to the medicines they need to provide optimal care to their patients.

The WSAVA’s General Assembly also met during Congress to agree the association’s strategic direction for 2023 and to deal with other business, including welcoming into membership:

  • The Asociación Médicos Veterinarios de Pequeñ Especies en Panamá – Full Member
  • The American Animal Hospital Association – Affiliate Member

Welcome to them both!

We thank Dr José Salazar and the other members of our Local Host Committee from AMVEPPA for working so hard to deliver yet another memorable WSAVA World Congress!
