Why not study for the WSAVA’s One Health Certificate?

We recently launched the first Certificate Program to focus specifically on the role of companion animals in One Health.

The development of the program, free of charge for WSAVA members, has been led by WSAVA OHC Chair Dr Michael Lappin. Once fully complete later this year, the course will comprise 20 modules and, once assessments have been completed successfully by a delegate for all modules, they will be issued with a Certificate for in-clinic display. The modules may be used for online continuing education credits in some countries.

Dr Lappin says:

[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]We have had a very positive response to our One Health Certificate program with our first ‘graduates’ expected later this year. The program includes multiple aspects of companion animal One Health, including the human–companion animal bond, zoonotic infectious disease, comparative and translational clinical research, domestic violence and animal abuse. Modules on specific One Health issues, such as canine rabies, leishmaniosis and obesity, are also included.[/blockquote]

[blockquote author=”” link=”” target=”_blank”]We hope that more and more WSAVA members will enroll in the program with a view to becoming certified as a ‘WSAVA One Health Practitioner’. We hope it will also prove valuable for our human physician colleagues, strengthening the links between our professions.[/blockquote]
