Interested in learning more about using genetics to improve patient health?

Make sure you check out ‘It’s all in the genes’ – a new course in the WSAVA Academy

We are increasingly aware of the importance of genetics in understanding and improving our patients’ health – but it can be challenging to keep up with the rapidly accumulating volume of information on clinical genetics and the available tests. It can also be difficult, knowing how to approach potentially difficult discussions about the role of genetics with clients.

If you’d like to build your knowledge in this area, check out a new two-week course prepared by the Chair of the WSAVA’s Hereditary Disease Committee, Dr Jerold Bell. During the lectures, he will discuss how genetics, genetic testing and genetic counselling can all be used to improve patient health.

An examination at the end will help you to test your new knowledge and there is also a list of additional resources.
