The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is delighted to announce that the association’s former PR manager Rebecca George has been awarded the prestigious WSAVA President’s Award 2024. This special honour, bestowed by WSAVA President Ellen van Nierop and ratified unanimously by the full board, recognizes her outstanding contributions to the association and its work for more than a decade.
Mrs George began advising the WSAVA on its communications in 2012 and, during her time with the association, she handled its global media relations activities, devised and wrote its regular newsletter, helped manage its partner relationships, authored key documents, such as reports and white papers, and handled a range of other important projects for the association.
WSAVA President Dr Ellen van Nierop said: “Rebecca is held in great esteem by the WSAVA board, committee members and secretariat team with whom she worked closely over the years. Her strategic insights and media expertise significantly enhanced the association’s outreach and impact during her time with us and we are very grateful for the enthusiasm, professionalism and empathy she brought to WSAVA communications.”
WSAVA Executive Director Richard Casey added: “Rebecca’s flawless ability to convey complex topics clearly and succinctly is an art. Her dedication to excellence serves as a beacon for us all.”
Rebecca George said: “It was a privilege to support the WSAVA’s important work during an exciting time as the breadth and range of its activities increased significantly. It was also a joy to work with so many inspirational and dedicated people, sharing a common goal to improve the health and welfare of companion animals globally. I’m grateful to Dr van Nierop for honoring me with this Award.”
Congratulations to Mrs George on this achievement!
